Conservative Treatment

Conservative Treatment

Only used in ascertained radiological diagnosis of some benign tumors in selected patients with just follow up every 3-6 months with clinical and radiological assessment as the natural history of some benign tumors tends for spontaneous obliteration and healing with skeletal maturity or when they are fractured , simple casting may be sufficient as in fibrous cortical defects, non ossifying fibromas and some cases of simple bone cyst.

Local steroids injection may induce healing and cyst maturation in some selected cases of simple bone cyst.

In some cases with bone metastasis adjuvant treatment in the form of palliative chemotherapy and / or radiation, hormonal therapy and nutritional care may be used.
