  • HO at the Orthopaedic Surgery Department, Demerdash Hospital, Ain Shams University, for 1 year (1/3/1992 -> 28/2/1993).
  • SHO (rotating resident) at the Orthopaedic Surgery Department, Demerdash Hospital, Ain Shams University, for 2 & half years (1/3/1993 -> 18/10/1995).
  • I worked in 1:3 rota in a team consisting of a registrar, two other SHOs and three HOs, supervised by two associate professors and a professor.
  • Associate Lecturer of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt ( 2 /5 / 1996 -> 28 / 8 / 2000 ).
  • During this period, I managed to finish and present my M.D. thesis on Limb salvage for malignant bone tumors, and to pass my final M.D. exam in April 2000.

Surgical Abilities

In Bone Tumors:

  • Management of all kind of bone tumors, both benign, malignant
    and bone metastasis.
  • Surgical management of benign bone tumors through curettage
    and different types of bone grafting and with or without internal
    fixation.
  • Management of malignant bone tumors through wide resection
    and different types of biological bone grafting, bone transport and
    segment transfer, endoprothetic replacement by either custom
    made or modular prosthesis for the proximal humerus , proximal
    femur , distal femur and proximal tibia .
  • Management of bone metastasis through prophylactic fixation for
    impending fractures, fixation or tumor resection and
    endoprothetic replacement in early selected cases.
  • Surgical management of benign and malignant soft tissue tumors
    in the extremity.
  • Management of all kinds and different levels of extremity
    amputation.

    , giving the topic of bone tumors for 6 hours each time, held at the National Training Institute, Ministry of Health and Population, Cairo, Egypt.
